![]() Olympian Labs FucogreenThe research department at Olympian Labs has developed a new formulation to support a healthy diet and weight maintenance program. FucoGreen is a combination of clinically studied ingredients including fucoxanthin, green tea extract and hoodia gordonii.
Recently, researchers at Hokkaido University in Sapporo, Japan demonstrated that fucoxanthin was effective in stimulating uncoupling protein 1 (UCP1) in laboratory animals. The UCP1 protein (also known as thermogenin) regulates the activity of a key gene responsible for the bodys temperature control and is responsible for stimulating the breakdown of stored fat. In these clinical studies on laboratory animals, fucoxanthin supplementation resulted in a 5 to 10 percent reduction in weight. It is likely that fucoxanthin increases the UCP1 protein by boosting the metabolic rate within the fat cell so that it burns more fat. (1) These initial studies from Japan spawned two new, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trials by Russian scientists involving 150 obese women. What the Russian scientists hypothesized was that fucoxanthin appeared to have strong thermogenic (fat burning) properties, especially on stored fat and, in particular, on white adipose (fat) tissue in the abdomen. The initial findings from these studies were truly amazing. Those who received fucoxanthin lost an average of 14.5 pounds in just sixteen weeks, versus those who received the placebo pill, who lost only 3 pounds. Additionally, those taking fucoxanthin also raised their metabolic rate an average of 18.2%and had body fat losses averaging 11.8 pounds, compared to 2.8 pounds in the placebo group. Simple results: 450% greater weight loss and 422% greater fat loss! A more important finding of the study was that the women taking fucoxanthin also received reductions in liver fat, blood pressure, triglycerides, and C-reactive protein (CRP), a plasma protein produced by the liver and by adipocytes (adipocytes make up adipose, or fat, tissue and specialize in storing energy as fat) and is a general marker for inflammation and infection, so it can be used as an indicator for heart disease risk. Published study results are pending. Fucoxanthin, a carotenoid derived from brown seaweed, is the specific carotenoid responsible for brown seaweeds color. Carotenoids are substances that possess antioxidant properties and protect the body from free radicals. Fucoxanthin has consistently demonstrated in studies to be supportive in weight loss, especially in mobilizing fat stored in the abdominal area. Fucoxanthin also exhibits a dual function in the body, as a compound that supports a healthy diet and weight maintenance program and as an antioxidant. Buyer Beware! Not all fucoxanthin is the same! Olympian Labs uses an HPLC method of testing which validates our fucoxanthin to contain pure 5% fucoxanthin, with NO contaminates. FucoGreen is unlike any other fucoxanthin based formula in that we have included two proven ingredients, green tea extract and hoodia gordonii, for their synergystic effect with fucoxanthin. Hoodia gordonii has long been used by indigenous populations of Southern Africa to suppress the appetite while on long hunting trips in the Kalahari Desert. Green tea extract has a long history of clinical studies supporting the positive effects on metabolic rate and fat loss. The combination of these ingredients makes FucoGreen the formula of choice for all who are interested in supporting good health and weight maintenance. Choose FucoGreen for supercharged fat burning!
